PALM ISLAND RESIDENCE

2002
Miami Beach, FL

This Mediterranean Revival home, once the residence of a 1930s celebrity, has been fully renovated to bring back the beauty and grace of the period. The living room, with its perfect scale and cross ventilation is very special and genuine, giving the feeling of being an extension of the gardens and corridors. The home is filled with light furnishings that add a soft and breezy sensibility to this retreat in counterpoint to this era of excess. The pool cabaña has been re-opened to embrace its original intent and now serves as an elegant shade structure with an airy guesthouse. The spiral staircase creates a color composition of bleached linen and silt.
