The Owl House shines with simplicity: an elevated concrete deck and concrete trellis run along the side of the garden mutually providing shelter while becoming an extension of the gardens and the pool. This first level hosts a family room, a small courtyard and stair hall, and the dining and kitchen service areas. Upstairs, two bedrooms sit on the trellis overlooking the garden as if they were two tree houses in between the canopies.
Natural light filtered through the oak trees flows deeply into the house. For the bedrooms on the second level, an operable shutter system filters further the light. The bedrooms resemble wood cabana tree houses, and enjoy the views to the garden and the surrounding treetops.
